Hickory Tavern

We were in town for our daughter’s tournament and decided to stop by for a quick bite. The food was decent, I’ve had better but it could also be just what I ordered. I would be willing to come again and try something different, as they have many appealing things on the menu. However, the service was excellent! Trevor was our server and he did a phenomenal job ensuring we had everything we needed. Our drinks were always refilled and he checked on us regularly. I loved when I asked for menu suggestions, he was honest, as most people are not. Huge fan. If you’re in the area, I definitely recommend stopping by and asking for Trevor as your server.

This place was awesome! Plenty of seating, even for one person (though they look at you like an alien/stare at you when you walk in as if single people don’t dine in, but that’s all restaurants). Great service, great food, great beer, plenty of TVs with sports on and even other programs. They treat you well (if younger, they don’t automatically card or try to make you feel like a moron, they respect you). I can only speak to the wings, where you can get THREE separate flavors in one 12-wing order, which is unheard of (it’s usually up to two). The flavors were all amazing, just wish they had larger dippers for sauce and were more attentive to your sauce and water-refilling needs. Pricy, but a good atmosphere which pays tribute to Pinehurst’s golf culture very well. The burgers looked great, too. The “Freedom Burger” even donates to a veterans charity if you get it, which I’m debating doing next time. You also have access to local Pinehurst area IPAs and other beers, and, thank God, the beer PRICES are listed, unlike some places, so you know exactly what you’re getting. As pricey as a Bdubs or Kickback Jacks, but the food quality is far superior and it’s a less hectic atmosphere. True gem, and a great place to go after a day of hiking in the pines!

Whitney was an amazing server! My wife loved her corned beef Reuben sandwich and my smokehouse burger was fabulous. This place was one of my father’s favorite places to eat. Loved being around people and watching all the sports on the televisions. Highly recommend you try this restaurant.

Great service amazing for the time I went inside. I didn’t even know my man was going to propose he hid it very well then he came out with the whole staff with this brownie ice cream saying will I marry him with the most beautiful ring. I’m more than thankful for the experience. Thank you hickory tavern for this night I will never forget and they paid for half of my meal thank u we will be back !!!!

Trevor was an AMAZING server. He was very attentive to our needs. I wish servers everywhere were like him. The food was great. I had the shrimp & grits and croissants for my entree and wings and fries for the appetizers. My meal was delicious, packed with flavor, and just the right temperature when it arrived. The croissants have a similar flavor to those from Cheddars. The price was affordable. The atmosphere was excellent. It was not crowded. There was no wait time and we went for dinner. Hickory Tavern is definitely a hidden gem in Pinehurst.

The food, service and atmosphere all were good. My wife and I were passing through and grabbed a bite to eat here. The service and people were nothing short from warm. I got a history lesson from one of the waitresses and found a new vacation location. Thank you Hickory Tavern!
